When a surprise visitor appears at Scud the Vampire’s door, Scud is launched off on a madcap journey into his home his mind and beyond. Part Dracula, Part Mr. Bean, part Pee-Wee’s Playhouse gone horribly wrong.

Bat Brains is a new play from award-winning writer and performer Sam Kruger (Just for Laughs Best Comedy Award) that reimagines Kruger’s own months-long nervous breakdown as a darkly funny, and oddly beautiful tour-de-force thrill ride that fuses theatre, dance, and mime into a performance that is a "must-see combination of physical theatre and comedy” (Capital Critics Circle - Ottawa).

About the Producing Company

Redrum is a theatre collaboration led by Sam Kruger and S.E. Grummett. Separately and together they have toured extensively both across Canada and abroad. Thier prior work as a duo, Creepy Boys, has been performed at the Adelaide Fringe (Australia), Twin Cities Horror Fest (USA), Omnibus Theatre (London, UK), and at the famed Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the Scotland, UK.

Kruger (he/him), and Grummett's (they/them) work together draws on Lecoq-style physical theatre, Gaulier-esqe clown, object theatre, performance art, and surrealism. Often exploring themes of nostalgia, isolation, the performativity of everyday life, as well as, queer and trans bodies (and the politics surrounding them).
